House Speaker Koon Calls for Urgent Mano River Union Parliamentary Meeting in Abidjan

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Richard Koon, has called for an urgent Mano River Union Parliamentary Meeting in Abidjan to address the ongoing situation along the Liberia-Guinea border in Lofa County.

The proposed high-level meeting aims to address growing concerns over recent border tensions within the subregion.

In a formal communication, Speaker Koon expressed deep concern over the developments that have the potential to undermine security and peaceful coexistence along the borders between Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia.

According to the Speaker, the current situation along the border has created an atmosphere of uncertainty and panic among citizens residing in border communities.

Speaker Richard Koon emphasized that maintaining regional peace, strengthening economic integration, and promoting cross-border cooperation remain critical priorities.
