MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) has confirmed joint efforts with its Sierra Leonean counterpart to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation of the LIS Gand Cape Mount County Border Patrol Unit Deputy Commander, Randy Tuweh.
The Deputy LIS Border Patrol Unit Commander, Randy Tuweh, was recently arrested with a huge quantity of tramadol in Bo Waterside by officers of Sierra Leone.
In a release issued on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the LIS thanked its Sierra Leonean counterpart for the arrest, noting that tackling narcotics is a collective responsibility that requires strong collaboration among countries in the region.
The LIS says it will continue implementing best practices and enhance surveillance at every entry point, including borders, seaports, and airports, as part of efforts to curb drug trafficking.
The release also quotes the LIS as committing to work along with international and regional partners to strengthen border security in preventing the movement of illegal substances.
Meanwhile, the Liberia Immigration Service is urging the public to keep supporting law enforcement agencies with credible information on drug trafficking.
