Pres. Boakai Accepts Resignation of Nat’l Elections Commission’s Chairperson

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has acknowledged the resignation of the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission (NEC), Davidetta Browne Lansanah.

Madam Browne-Lansanah informed the President that her decision followed consultations with her family after more than twelve years of service at the Commission.

According to an Executive Mansion release, she served the electoral body first as a commissioner and later as Chairperson.

President Boakai commended Madam Browne-Lansanah for her dedicated service that helped strengthen Liberia’s electoral process.

The Liberian Leader has also asked Madam Davidetta Browne-Lansanah to continue overseeing the affairs of the National Elections Commission through March 31, 2026, to ensure a smooth transition.
