MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph Boakai has reiterated the Government of Liberia’s zero-tolerance measure against financial indiscipline in the public service.
President Boakai also re-emphasized his administration’s steadfast commitment to the misuse of public resources.
An Executive Mansion release said the President urged public officials to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability.
The President’s statement, according to the release, is in reaction to the dismissal of two senior officials of the National Housing Authority (NHA) for financial misconduct.
Those dismissed are the Deputy Managing Director for Administration, Prince Bonnah, Deputy Managing Director for Technical Services, Alex Railey.
The release said the President’s action is in accordance with an NHA Board Resolution from an investigative committee, establishing violations of the Public Financial Management Regulations of 2009.
The Liberian Leader assured the public that appropriate administrative measures will be taken to ensure continuity of operations at the National Housing Authority, in keeping with existing laws and regulations.
