Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority Officially Turnover Special Agro-Processing Zone Project Site in Grand Bassa County…

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberia Special Economic Zones Authority has officially turned over the special agro-processing zone project site in Grand Bassa County to the contractor HM&A.

The turning over of the site marks a major milestone in the government’s agro-industrial development agenda.

According to a release, HM&A will carry out site clearing, fencing, and creation of access for power transmission lines, and construction of a 4.7-kilometre access road leading to the proposed agro-industrial park.

The project covers 210 hectares of land designated for the development of a modern special agro-processing zone, and it is expected to last for 18 months.

The release further states that the project reflects the government’s commitment to job creation and inclusive growth.

Noting that the initiative will unlock investment opportunities and add value to agricultural production, and position Liberia as a competitive agro-industrial destination.
