MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The leadership of the House of Representatives is investigating Bea Mountain Mining Company over reports of the company’s involvement in the production of cement and mineral water.
According to the House, such involvement clearly violates Bea Mountain’s operations and undermines the Liberalization Policy.
The decision followed a communication from Sinoe County District Three Representative, Alex Noah, requesting the appearance of the Bea Mountain Executive Officer for questioning.
In a communication, Representative Noah described the company’s operations of cement and water factories as hugely undermining local producers in its mining communities.
Meanwhile, the authorities of Bea Mountain Mining Company are expected to appear before a joint committee hearing for questioning on Wednesday, November 12.
The Liberianization Policy ensures Liberians have exclusive participation in specific sectors of the economy, thereby reducing economic disparity and promoting self-reliance.
