MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President Joseph has announced a significant reduction in the prices of flour and rice, following a report and recommendation from the Presidential Ad-hoc Committee on Price Contradictions.

In an Executive Mansion release, President Boakai disclosed the reduction of the wholesale price of flour from thirty-nine to thirty-five US Dollars per 100-pound bag.

The wholesale price of rice has also been reduced from sixteen-point seventy-five US Dollars to fourteen USD per 25kg bag.

The Liberian Leader, in the release, termed the reduction as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to ensuring that ordinary Liberian family has access to affordable food.

According to the release, President Boakai unveiled the government’s plans to work closely with producers and importers to maintain fair and sustainable trade practices that safeguard continuous supply.
