LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-A six-man committee to continue engagements in the land conflict between residents of Foya and Kolahun Districts has been constituted in Lofa County.
The committee was constituted by the Liberian Government Lead Mediator, Internal Affairs Minister Fracis Nyumalin, following two days of intense negotiation.
Minister Nyumalin disclosed that the committee comprises an elder, a woman, and a youth representing Foya and Kolahun Districts.
He said, “The Peace-Building Office will train members of the committee to begin working immediately to ensure that residents of the districts remain peacefully engaged, pending the outcome of the negotiations.”
Minister Nyumalin further said that the planting of the cornerstone as the mutually agreed boundary between the contending parties is expected to be done by the end of 2025.
