MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is set to officially launch its Golden Jubilee celebration in Accra, Ghana.

 According to a dispatch, Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS member states will gather in Accra on Tuesday, April 22, to officially launch the activities planned as part of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the regional bloc.

The dispatch maintains that, founded on May 28, 197,5 in Lagos, Nigeria, ECOWAS remains the best-organized Regional Economic Community, with numerous achievements and programs to its credit.

The statement added that the sub-regional institution continues to facilitate regional integration and the development of the populations of its Member States.

ECOWAS noted that the Accra celebrations will feature a series of colorful events, including the presentation of the ECOWAS Golden Jubilee logo and theme, as well as artistic and cultural performances, recounting the history of the regional bloc.
