MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Over twenty-five nurses, midwives, and health trainers in Montserrado County have been trained in Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care.

The five-day training was part of a memorandum of understanding signed between the Liberian Board for Nursing and Midwifery and the Africa Center of Excellence in Population Health and Policy, which is based in Nigeria.

In an interview with reporters over the weekend, the Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Board, Cecelia Kpangbala-Flomo said:” The training sought to build competencies in Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal Child and Adolescent Health.

Also speaking, Professor Baba Musa, the lead facilitator of the Africa Center of Excellence in Population Health and Policy, lauded the LBMN for the partnership and reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to addressing critical areas in Liberia’s Health Sector.
