Gov. of Liberia Remains Determined in Corruption Fight

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia says it remains determined in the fight against corruption and other acts that tend to impede national growth and development.

Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah said:” The Government will ensure that those found culpable of corruptible acts are prosecuted in accordance with the law.”

According to Minister Piah, the Government prioritizes the interest of the Liberian people, and as such, nothing will be done to circumvent said mandate.

The MICAT Boss made the remarks in reaction to the ongoing investigation launched by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission into alleged bribery scandal involving the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWSC) and the Ministry of Transport.

The LWSC and the Ministry of Transport have been accused of allegedly funding the ongoing leadership saga at the House of Representatives.

Speaking at the MICAT Press Briefing Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Monrovia, Information Minister Jerolinmek Piah reassured the public of the Government’s full commitment to living up to the promises made to the Liberian people.
