On Monday, October 21,2024, the LACC announced that it is looking into series of allegations involving the LWSC and the Ministry of Transport, providing funds to remove Speaker Koffa.

It indicated that a total of seven hundred fifty thousand US Dollars was allegedly made available to the aggrieved lawmakers through the accounts of the Ministry of Transport and the LWSC, respectively.

But in a letter addressed to Cllr. Alexander Zoe, the Executive Chairperson of the LACC, the Acting Managing Director of the LWSC, Wilson Gaye, said:” His entity considers such allegation as grave, and as such, it is requesting the LACC to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into the matter.

Mr. Gaye said:” To uphold the integrity of the Corporation and further demonstrate its commitment to transparency and accountability, the Management has agreed to provide bank statements of various accounts of the entity for review by the LACC.”

According to him, the entity is granting full access to the LACC in relation to all bank accounts for review.

Meanwhile, the Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation has reiterated its ignorance of the allegation, and said it remains hopeful of a prompt and impartial investigation by the LACC which outcome will ultimately exonerate the LWSC.
