South Sudan Delegation Arrives in Liberia…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA- A South Sudan delegation has arrived for a week-long study tour at the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

The Delegation is led by Gatluak Gac Choul, Deputy Director of the Integrated Financial Management Information System (IFMIS) at the Department of Treasury Operations in South Sudan.

According to a release issued on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, the Nine-Member Delegation began their visit with a courtesy call on Acting Finance Minister Anthony Myers on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the Head of the Delegation, Mr. Choul said:” The visit to Liberia was based on similarities between the two countries and the potential for mutual learning.

Mr. Choul indicated that the Delegation seeks to understand how Liberia has approached and managed its IFMIS, PFM, and HR reforms, and to identify best practices that could be adopted in South Sudan.

For his part, Acting Finance Minister Myers welcomed the Delegation and affirmed Liberia’s readiness to share information and experiences.

Minister Anthony Myers acknowledged the challenging history of South Sudan and the progress it has made since gaining independence.
