USAID-Liberia School Feeding Program Impacts Liberian Students

BOMI COUNTY, LIBERIA-More than forty thousand Liberian students are benefiting from USAID School Feeding initiatives across Liberia.

USAID-Liberia Deputy Director for Education, Barton Pogue, said:” The organization is committed to supporting Liberia through agriculture and human capacity development.”

Mr. Pogue made the commitment over the weekend in Bomi County at the celebration of USAID and the Mary Meals School Feeding program in Liberia.

The USAID-Liberia Deputy Director for Education said the move is intended to buttress the Government’s efforts to improve food security in Liberia.

Meanwhile, Mary Meals Country Director, Paula Nawrocki said:” The school feeding program is impacting Liberian students from various schools.”

Madam Nawrocki said the initiative is attracting more students at various schools to tackle hunger in Liberia.

She, however, called on local and international organizations to collaborate with Mary Meals to enhance the initiative.
