Liberia Broadcasting System Employees Elect New Leadership

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Employees of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) have elected a new corps of officers.

Those elected are Joseph Sayon, President, Kolubah Zayzay, Secretary General, and Naomi Francis, Financial Secretary, among others.

Mr. Sayon defeated outgoing Vice President of the LBS Workers’ Union, Rachel Kollie, sixty-two to forty-eight votes, while Naomi Francis also defeated Steven Dorbor seventy-two to twenty-four votes.

The Secretary-General and Chaplain positions were contested unopposed.

The newly elected officials will steer the affairs of the LBS Workers’ Union for the next three years.
