Liberia to Serve on Human Rights Committee of UNESCO

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia has been nominated to serve on the Human Rights Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Board members.

Education Minister, Ansu Sonii, said:” The selection means Liberia will not join fifty-seven other countries to serve as UNESCO Board member.”

Minister Sonii, who has been showcasing Liberia’s academic credentials in Paris, said the West African Nation galvanized the highest vote among other countries vying for seats on the Board.

The Liberia Education Minister believes Liberia’s position at UNESCO will enable it to solicit funds from other countries.

Minister Ansu Sonii was speaking on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, on the ELBC Education at Mid-Week program.
