Western Cluster Tackles Plastic Waste Reduction in Bomi County…

Monrovia, May 24, 2023 – Western Liberia Western Cluster Limited, a subsidiary of Sesa Goa, a Vedanta group company engaged in iron ore mining in Bomi County, has launched a major campaign targeting plastic waste reduction.

The ‘Sesa Against Plastic Pollution Campaign’ was launched on Monday, May 22 with the target of creating a sustainable green future in Bomi County.

The campaign, which runs from May 22 to June 15, coincides with World Environment Day and World Biodiversity Day.

A statement Tuesday said the company launched the campaign in line with this year’s World Environment Day theme, Beat Plastic Pollution.

The Company is aiming to raise awareness about the impact of plastic pollution on the environment and human health.

As part of the Campaign, the Vedanta Sesa Goa’s -CEO Navin Jaju is expected to announce a “Green Pledge” for all employees to reduce their plastic footprint.

CEO Jaju believes such move will have a lasting impact and inspire others to follow suit in a quest to create a cleaner future.

The company is also planning to organize plantation drives at Mines, Bomi camp area and in the schools.

Mega cleaning drive in Tubmanburg in collaboration with the local community will be part of the Campaign.
