Forestry Dev. Authority, Partners signed Memorandum of Understanding….

NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The Forestry Development Authority (FDA) and partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to protect and conserve the East Nimba Natural Reserve.

Under the agreement, FDA is partnering with the Co-Management Committee to ensure the participation of communities in protecting the forest.

At the signing ceremony over the weekend, FDA Managing Director Mike Doryen emphasized the roles of communities to manage and protect the forest.

Mr. Douryen said:” Communities must stand up and work to preserve their forest for the betterment of the Country’s ecosystem.”

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Co-Management Committee, Saye Thompson, wants communities benefit from their forest through livelihood support programs from Government and partners.
