Nigeria Air Force ends assessment for Armed of Liberia Air Wing Reactivation

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A delegation from the Nigerian Air Force to Liberia has concluded an assessment for the reactivation of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) Air Wing.

The delegation toured the James Sprigs Payne Airport in Sinkor, Monrovia, Roberts International Airport in Margibi County, and other facilities at the disposal of the AFL.

Speaking in Monrovia on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, AFL Chief of Staff, Major General Prince C. Johnson III said:” The assessment will inform a better decision as to how the AFL proceeds with the air wing reactivation plan.”

Maj. Gen. Johnson added that the need for reactivation is crucial to the protection of Liberia, and support to the civil authority.

He maintained that the Leadership of the AFL is doing everything possible to tap from the expertise of the Nigerian and Ghanaian Air Forces, in a bid to reactivate the defunct AFL Air Wing.

For his part, the Head of Delegation and Director of Training at the Nigerian Air Force, Vice Marshall, Francis Edosa, reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the ever-growing relationship subsisting between the two countries.

He noted that the Nigerian Government has already approved the training of Liberian cadets currently at the Nigerian Defense Academy, to equip them with technical knowledge in flight operations.
