Education Ministry begins School Census across Liberia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Ministry of Education has begun School Census across the Liberia.

Education Minister, Ansu Sonii, said:” The essence of the census is to collect data to enhance the accuracy of the number of schools in the Country.”

Professor Sonii told ELBC on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, that the data on schools is critical to improving Liberia’s Education Sector.

For his part, Deputy Education Minister for Planning, Research and Development, Alton Kesselly, said the Ministry has already received over fifty-percent of the 2020/2021 annual school data results.

Mr. Kesselly noted that the Ministry has employed new plan to ensure the accuracy of schools, and that District Education Officers are helping to recruit enumerators to do the collection through a digital process.
