Liberia ranked 3rd in global fight against COVID-19-Information Minister Rennie

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia has been ranked number three in the global fight against COVID-19 in Africa.

The ranking is contained in a recent update on the virus situation on the continent by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie told the MICAT press briefing Thursday, October 20,2022, that the Country was also successful in achieving Herd Immunity by vaccinating over 76 percent of the population.

Minister Rennie hailed the resilience of health workers and the people of Liberia for adhering to the various COVID-19 protocols.

He said:” Despite the devastating impact of the pandemic, Liberians continue to be resilient in the global fight against the virus.”

As per the latest WHO report, over three-million Liberians are currently vaccinated against covid-19.
