Three suspended Liberian Gov’t officials resign

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has accepted the resignation of three top officials of Government recently sanctioned by the United States Government.

Minister of States for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel McGill, National Port Authority (NPA) Managing Director, Bill Twehway and Solicitor General Cllr. Syrenius Cephus resigned on Monday, September 12, 2022.

The Executive Mansion said the three former officials have lauded President Weah for affording them the opportunity to serve in his Government.

Their resignation followed their suspension by President Weah, after the US Government designated them for their involvement in all forms of public corruption in August this year.

It remains unclear whether there is an active criminal investigation ongoing as directed by the President, when he announced their suspension last month.
