MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Angry students on Sunday disrupted and prevented the graduation and c losing exercises of the LEAD Monrovia Football Academy for taken place at the head campus in Careysburg.

The students reportedly chased out the audience at the program hall Sunday, August 7, 2022, and damaged the stage in protest to the reported suspension of the Director of Football at the institution, George Mulbah.

According to the protesters, the new administration of the school is doing all within its power to dismiss Mr. Mulbah, the man they consider their father, by undermining and leveling false accusations against him.

They alleged that the new administration also wants to get rid of the footballing program at the institution.

The LEAD Monrovia Football Academy was established in 2015 to provide Liberia’s talented youth with full time academic classes, football training and the skill lessons to improve academic performance.

When authorities of the school were contacted, they told ELBC that they could not comment on the matter.

Parents and community residents gathered at the program expressed frustration over the situation and called on the intervention of education authorities.
