Police arrest 7 persons in connection with July 26 violence in Monrovia

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian National Police (LNP) has arrested seven persons in connection with the July 26 street violence.

According to a release issued, those arrested are Kendrick Pelenah, Joshua Karr, Pukar Roberts, Foday Massaquoi, Aaron Chea and Abdurrahman Barrie.

The police said there is an ongoing manhunt for the remaining individuals.

The LNP said it will shortly solicit the assistance of the public by releasing names and photographs of the wanted persons, but the police have not levied any charges so far.

Meanwhile, the LNP said that it is still conducting Professional Standard probe of officers who were in charge of security for the July 26 celebration.
