Engage International Partners to ensure Liberia benefits….-Pres. Weah

GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY, LIBERIA-President George Weah has instructed Government ministries and agencies to engage international partners to ensure Liberia benefits from development funds.

President Weah wants the Liberian Government place emphasis in the areas of health, education, agriculture, youth and women empowerment and road and port infrastructure.

The Liberian Leader made specific reference to the World Bank-International Development Association (IDA) financing package for developing countries.

The IDA has approved a thirty-nine-million recovery fund to help mainly developing countries recover from recent economic shocks caused by COVID-19 and other factors.

He warned that the funding available under the IDA 20 project will expire and return to the donor, if not utilized within the stipulated time.

President Weah was speaking Monday, July 11, 2022, at the opening of the Cabinet Retreat currently taking place in Ganta, Nimba County.

In a related development, President Weah is expected to undertake a presidential development tour on the sidelines of the retreat in the county.

The Liberian Leader said the tour is intended to inspect key development projects and initiative taking place in the county.
