7 Pretrial Detainees set free from Lofa County Central Prison

LOFA COUNTY, LIBERIA-The 10th Judicial Circuit Court in Lofa County has released seven pretrial detainees from the Voinjama Central Prison.

The assigned judge at the Court, Joe, Barcon, said the release of the pretrial detainees is in keeping with the criminal procedure laws of Liberia.

Joe Barcon said:” Those released had over stayed in prison without trial, which is a violation of their rights.”

He then cautioned those released to return to their communities, and conduct themselves positively, in order to avoid problems.

Those freed allegedly committed multiple crimes, including aggravated assault, attempts to commit murder, burglary and unlawful possession of drugs among others.
