Gov’t Ministries, Agencies beg for increment in individual budgets

MONROVIA, LIBEIA-Heads of several ministries and agencies of the Liberian Government are pleading for increment in their respective budgets.

The ministries and agencies include, Justice, Defense, Internal Affairs, Commerce, the Liberia National Police, the Bureau of Veteran Affairs, among others.

Justice Minister Frank Musa Dean said:” An increment will enable the ministry function effectively.”

Minister Dean said the additional funding will go towards logistics, capacity development, prosecution and vehicles for attorneys assigned in the fifteen counties.

The Head of the Bureau of Veteran Affairs, Edwin Goodrich, also said the Veteran Bureau lacks vehicles for all appointees and increment in the 2022 budget year will serve as a great relief.

The officials made the calls on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, during the budget hearings currently taking place at the Liberian Senate at the Capitol in Monrovia.
