Sierra Leonean Vice Pres. proposes Monrovia-Freetown Heritage Foundation

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohammed Jalloh, is proposing the establishment of a Monrovia-Freetown Heritage Foundation.

Dr. Jalloh’s statement is a renew call following previous discussions with Monrovia City Mayor, Jefferson Koijee, in Freetown recently.

The Sierra Leonean Vice President said:” The Heritage Foundation will enable the two countries carryout cultural exchange and strengthen the already existing relationship.”

Vice President Jalloh noted that the proposed foundation will serve as medium to share creative and innovative ideas, beyond just the diplomatic relationship.

The Sierra Leonean Vice President was speaking Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at the Capitol, when he made a guest appearance in the Plenary of the Liberian Senate.

At the same time, Senate Pro-tem, Albert Chie, has lauded the Sierra Leonean Vice President for the vision to renew the relationship between the two countries.

Pro-tem Chie appreciated the Government and people of Sierra Leone for the hospitality accorded a citizen of Liberia and Secretary General of the Mano River Union (MRU), Mrs. Madina Wesseh.

Senator Chie called on the Sierra Leonean Vice President to engage his colleagues about the position of the MRU on   emerging security threats in   the region.

He added that nothing has been heard from the MRU on the military situation in Guinea and other security issues in the sub-region.
