Prosecute those involved in power theft-Minister Murray

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Mines and Energy Minister wants a special court established to prosecute those involved in power theft in the Country.

Minister Gesler Murray said:” The arrest and prosecution of such individuals will go a long way to combating the long-standing problem of power theft in Liberia.”

Minister Murray also wants the establishment of an Inter-Governmental taskforce to tackle the issue of power theft.

He said despite steady progress made by Government in the energy sector, power theft continues to undermine the gains made by the Liberia Electricity Corporation.

Minister Murray added that combating power theft is the sole responsibility of every Liberian.
