Health Authorities to vaccinate frontline health workers against EBOLA virus….

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Health Authorities are expected to vaccinate health workers against the Ebola Virus beginning August of this year.

The Principal Investigator and Medical Specialist at the National Public Health Institute (NPHIL), Dr. Benjamin Vonhm, said:” Health workers in Lofa, Bong and Nimba Counties are targeted for the exercise.”

Dr. Vonhm disclosed that the vaccine is safe and effective in preventing health workers from contracting the virus, in case of any outbreak.

He recounted how the virus took away the lives of several health workers as front liners in 2014.

Meanwhile, the NPHIL Principal Investigator and Medical Specialist wants health workers to take advantage of the vaccine to keep safe at all times.
