Cape Mount Citizens Commended for giving land for ECOWAS Joint Border Post at Bo Waterside

Monrovia, Liberia – Citizens and Residents of Bo-township in Tewor district, Grand Cape Mount County have been commended by the Government for donating fifteen point five acres of land to ensure the construction of the ECOWAS Joint Border Post between Liberia and Sierra Leone.

The commendation was made Thursday by Cletus Noah, when he represented Finance and Development Planning Minister, Samuel D. Tweah, during a visit to Bo-Waterside by the technical committee of the Joint Border Post.

The visit was intended to complete the planting of corner pegs on the proposed construction site.

Mr. Noah, who is the Chief of Staff to Minister Tweah, thanked the people for the continued support and commitment to the project.

In 2019 when ECOWAS informed both Liberia and Sierra Leone of its decision to construct a Joint Border Post between the two member states, the regional organization requested the donation of land as a major requirement for hosting of the project either by Liberia or Sierra Leone.

Early this month ECOWAS conducted a site verification exercise in both Lib and Sierra Leone at Bo-waterside in order to ascertain which side has met the land requirement mandate.
