Eight year old girl drowns in river near Voinjama Central Prison in Lofa County

VOINJAMIN, LOFA COUNTY – An 8 years old girl identify as Blessing Fatu Kawala has reportedly died of drowning in Voinjama, Lofa County.

The incident happened on Tuesday May 18 at the Zelubah River behind the Voinjama Central Prison.

Our correspondent quotes residents as saying little Blessing and two other kids had gone to take bath in the Zelubah River where the sad incident occurred during the afternoon hours.

They had followed their parents on the farm behind the Voinjama Central Prison.

Our Correspondent said a jury examination has confirmed that little Blessing died as a result of drowning but the Liberia National Police has launched further investigation into the sad incident.
