US Ambassador, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism signed agreement to beautify and conserve Provision Island

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Ledgerhood Rennie and US Ambassador, Michael McCarthy have signed an agreement for the beautification and conservation of the historic Providence Island.

Speaking during the signing over the weekend in Monrovia, Minister Rennie said funding for the project will come from the US Ambassador’s Fund for Culture and Preservation and the World Monument Fund.

Information Minister disclosed that the project will also include the beautification and conservation of the Island, unique for cultural performances.

Also speaking, Ambassador McCarthy said the Providence Island will be developed and preserved for research and tourist attraction.
