Restructure Liberia’s Political System in increase women’s participation-Gbowee

SALALA,BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-Nobel Laureate Leymah Gbowee wants the political system of Liberia restructured, to increase the participation of women in Liberian politics.

Madam Gbowee said:” The foundation of the Country’s political leadership structure makes it difficult for women to excel in political leadership.”

She spoke over the weekend in Salala, Bong County, at a special women conference organized as part of International Women’s Day celebration.

She said the exercise is necessary because for a very long time Liberia had a system that prohibited women from being involved in politics.
