Gov’t challenges LLA, Medici Land Governance to legitimize land title deeds for Clara Town, Doe Community land owners

MONROVIA, LIBERIA- Finance Minister Samuel Tweah is challenging the Liberia Land Authority (LLA) and partners to ensure land owners of Clara Town and Doe Community get legitimate land title deeds.

Minister Tweah said government’s desire to implement the systematic land titling pilot Project is to recognize and give legitimate title deeds to squatters on the land.

In remarks, the Senior Director of Medici Land Governance, Alley Kaiser Hudges said the project will provide security and economic development for about one thousand house-holds.

For his part, the Chairman of the Liberia Land Authority, Attorney Adams Manubah assured residents of the two communities that government’s intent is to expand development but not eject any land owners from their properties.

They spoke Friday, January 15,2021 during the official launch of the first digital systematic Land Titling project, held in Doe Community, Bushrod Isalnd, Monrovia.
