Liberia National Police re-introduces ‘No-Go-Zone’ policy for motorcyclists on 4th January-2020

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – Deputy Police Inspector General for Operations Col. Marvin Sackor says the reintroduction of the No-Go-Zone policy by the Liberian National Police (LNP) is to minimize deaths and crime rates.

Col. Sackor said: “Prior to the policy, the LNP had recorded more deaths and criminal activities resulting from the effect of motorcycle”.

He told ELBC, Monday, December 29, 2020, that the policy will, however, restrict motorcyclists and criminals from plying major streets and the main Boulevard as part of government security measures.

Col. Sackor reiterated that the LNP will color-code all motorcycles based on their location as a mark of identification.

The Deputy Director of Police said under the policy commercial Motorcyclists will be made to ply the street from 6 AM to 10 PM while private riders will be given passes to ply the street at night.
