Citizens of Rivercess County signs peace agreement to end land disputes in Toboe, Doewien and Juweh Clans

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Liberia Land Authority (LLA) has ended a three-day dialogue on land disputes among citizens of Toboe, Doewien and Juweh Clans in Rivercess County.

Recently, a delegation from the LLA headed by the Commissioner for Land Administration, Josephus Burges, along with some Technical Staff of the entity began a three-day dialogue with site identification to ascertain the cause of the land disputes.

According to a release, a peace agreement was signed by all parties to the land conflict.

Commissioner Burgess lauded citizens of Doewien and Toboe Clans for their cooperation and promised to find a lasting solution to the land disputes.

He said the decision-making in land dispute followed investigative survey, mapping and demarcation of the disputed areas which requires time and resources.

Commissioner Burgess said following the signing of the agreement, copies were issued the various parties involved including the Liberia Land Authority, Representative of Civil Society Organizations, the office of the Statutory Superintendent and the Township Commissioner.
