All Ballot Papers for the Senatorial, Representative By-Elections are in the Country-Nat’l Elections Commission

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The National Elections Commission (NEC) says all ballot papers for the 2020 Senatorial Elections, the National Referendum and the two Representative By-Elections in District 9, Montserrado and District 2 in Sinoe Counties have arrived in the Country.

The Commission said the last batch of ballot papers arrived in the Country on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, on board a special chartered flight, Passion Air, via the Roberts International Airport in Lower Margibi County, from Accra, Ghana.

The Commission, in a release issued Friday, December 4, 2020, said the total ballot papers of three-million-two-hundred-seventy-nine-thousand-one-hundred for the Senatorial Election, and a total of three-million, two-hundred-sixty-seven-thousand for the National Referendum.

It said the total ballot of sixty-six-thousand-five-hundred-fifty for District Nine, Montserrado County By-Election and thirty-thousand-two-hundred-fifty for District Two in Sinoe County.

Meanwhile, deployment of election materials, including ballot papers, has begun.

At the same time, all election materials for the Southern Counties (Maryland, Grand Kru, River Gee, Grand Gedeh and Sinoe Counties) have left the NEC Central Offices for the various counties.

Meanwhile, the NEC Chairperson, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, is commending LBS Management for helping the Commission to inform the public about its activities.

Madam Browne-Lansanah also thanked LBS for the balance in the news on the Commission.

She said:” This has strengthened the Commission to recheck its performances to be on par with the public expectation.”

The NEC Boss spoke Friday, December 4, 2020, when she paid a courtesy call on LBS Director General, Estelle Liberty-Kemoh at her LBS offices in Paynesville.

The NEC Chairperson wants a close working relationship between the Commission and the Liberia Broadcasting System, for the good of the public.

For her part, the LBS Boss said:” The System will continue to promulgate Government’s programs in a positive way to the people of Liberia.”

Mrs. Liberty-Kemoh said:” This is why the prime focus of LBS is to adequately inform and educate the public on the workings of Government, to improve their socio and economic wellbeing.”

She said:” Currently the System has embarked on the education of the public on the National Referendum and the December 8, 2020 Elections.”

The LBS Boss disclosed that the Management of LBS has created the space for the views of all Liberians to be heard.
