Gov. pays tribute to fallen Football Legend Diego Maradona

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-President George Weah has paid tribute to the fallen Argentine Football legend and icon Diego Maradona.

President Weah described him as a man with an extraordinary story as a kid, who unshackled himself from the yoke of poverty and used his mastery of football to bring joy and inspiration to millions.

The Liberian Leader, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia, extended deepest condolence to the family, the people of Argentina and lovers of the ‘beautiful game’.

Diego Maradona died Wednesday, November 25, 2020, following a period of illness.
