Doctors withdrawal from Phebe was in good faith – MOH reacts

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – The Ministry of Health has reacted to misinterpretation on the Phebe saga, saying the withdrawal of doctors from the hospital was done in good faith.

The Ministry of Health has expressed concern over what it calls the misinterpretation and falsehood surrounding its decision to withdraw a few of its doctors from the Phebe Hospital.

A Health Ministry release said its decision to withdraw the doctors from the Phebe hospital was not based on the fact that doctors were enough at the hospital.

The release quotes the Health Ministry as clarifying that its decision is aimed at ensuring adequate coverage of all hospitals across the Country.

The release quotes the Communications Consultant at the Health Ministry, Sorbor George as saying: “Government is currently negotiating with the churches including Lutheran, Episcopal, and the United Methodist to derive an amicable memorandum of understanding, acceptable to all parties”.
