LTA orders Orange-Liberia, LoneStar MTN to pay over US$4Million into Gov’t Revenue

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Management of the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) has ordered Orange-Liberia and Lone Star, to pay over four-million United States Dollars into Government revenue.

According to a release issued Thursday, October 15, 2020, the money is to be paid for gains made on the implementation of the Floor Price.

The release said other measures include the restitution of credits to affected consumers from October 8 to the 14 and asked them to revert to remitting regulatory fees to the LTA.

The release also quotes the LTA Board of Communication for assuring the public of its commitment, to promoting and maintaining a responsive and predictable regulatory environment.

Meanwhile, LTA says it would continue performing its regulatory functions without fear or favor, and calls on the GSM Companies to comply.
