Senate summons Authorities of APM Terminals…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Liberian Senate has summoned Authorities of APM Terminals to appear before Plenary Friday, October 9, 2020, in connection with reported bad labor practices.

According to ELBC Legislative Reporter, Authorities of APM Terminals are to also show reasons why they should not be held in contempt.

Plenary’s decision followed the rejection of a report submitted by its Committee on Labor, requesting the Dock Workers Union of Liberia to channel their grievances through the Labor Ministry.

The Dock Workers Union recently submitted a communication to the Liberian Senate, complaining APM Terminals of bad labor practices.

During deliberations, Maryland County Senator Gblebo Brown expressed disappointment in the Committee’s report, saying that the workers’ concern was not properly handled by the Committee.
