Liberian Govt. instructs Ministry of Health to recruit qualified health workers…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The Government of Liberia has instructed the Ministry of Health to begin recruitment process of qualified health workers of various grades, to fill the temporary vacancies created by striking health workers.

The Government said:” Despite initial steps taken to amicably resolve the ongoing standoff, health workers continue to remain uncompromising, unreasonable and uncooperative.”

According a Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism (MICAT) release issued recently, the applications from qualified health workers will be submitted to County Health Centers, the Ministry of Health and the John F. Kennedy Hospital.

The Government, however, clarified that the recruitment will not affect non-striking health workers.

Meanwhile, the Government said volunteers filling in the gap during the strike action will be given preference in the recruitment process.
