Health Minister appeals to health care workers to return to work

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Health Minister Dr. Wilhelmina Jallah has made a passionate plead to health workers to return to work, as the Liberian Government makes effort to address their concerns.

The National Health Workers Association of Liberia, a conglomeration of various health care associations, has announced a nationwide strike for better incentives, including salary increment for health workers.

But speaking in an ELBC interviews on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, Dr. Jallah appealed to the health workers to return to work for the benefit of ailing Liberians.

The Health Minister said:” Demands of the health workers would be done on a short, medium and long term basis, and immediate action is being taken to ensure the payment of health workers’ hazard benefits.”

Dr. Jallah, however, said Government would address health workers’ demands that are capable of being handled and not concerns beyond its control.
