House of Rep. charges Firestone-Liberia with contempt …

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-The House of Representatives has taken Firestone-Liberia to task, for failing to honor its invitation in connection with the redundancy of its employees.

On Thursday, September 3, 2020, Firestone Management failed to appear before that august body about its redundancy saga.

But the Plenary of the House of Representative has announced a contempt charge against Firestone Management, to appear before it Tuesday, September 8, 2020, to state why it should not be held in contempt.

According to our Legislative Reporter, members of the Lower House described Firestone Management’s action to ignore their earlier directive to halt the redundancy plan as an affront to that august body.

In recent month, controversy over the redundancy of over three-hundred workers of Firestone ensued between national policy makers and the Company, though the redundancy has taken place.
