Media institutions vow to help Gov. enhance good governance

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-A one-day media round-table dialogue with the Open Government Partnership (OGP) ended in Monrovia, with commitment from media institutions to help the OGP enhance good governance policies in Liberia.

The Tuesday, August 11, 2020, event was aimed at acquainting the media on the role of the Open Government Partnership, in the implementation and monitoring of the National Action Plan.

The round-table gathering also discussed how the print and electronic media, in collaboration with the OGP, can keep the government engaged in the discharge of its duties and service delivery to the people.

More than ten media institutions attended the event, including, the Liberia Broadcasting System, ECOWAS Radio, OK FM, the Daily Observer, Front Page Africa, and Cyclone Newspaper, among others.

The Open Government Partnership is a multilateral initiative, which seeks to secure concrete commitments from Governments to promote transparency, empowerment, fight corruption, and harness new technologies to strengthen governance.
