Grand Bassa 2nd Judicial Circuit Court Judge Wants Gov’t Expand the County’s Prison Facility

BUCHANAN, LIBERIA – The Resident Judge of the Second Judicial Circuit Court of Grand Bassa County is calling on the government to expand the prison facility in the county.

Speaking at the opening of the court Monday, August 10, 2020 Judge Joe Barcon attributed his call to the overcrowding of the county’s prison facility.

According to Judge Barcon, the expansion when done will accommodate more inmates who may come in conflict with the law.

According to ELBC Grand Bassa County correspondent, the prison in Go-Zohn upper Buchanan was built to hold forty-seven inmates but currently has nearly one hundred inmates at the facility.
