Liberia joins other countries in celebrating World Day Against Trafficking in Persons

MONROVIA, LIBERIA-Liberia on Thursday, July 39,2020, joined other Countries to commemorate World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

The global event was launched in 2013, when the General Assembly of the United Nations dedicated a day to raise awareness about human trafficking and the situations of the victims involved, and to promote and protect their rights.

The day is celebrated under the theme:”Committed to the Cause: Working on the Frontline to End Human Trafficking”.

Labor Minister Moses Kollie said the official celebration is expected to takeplace in Ganta, Nimba County.

Minister Kollie said:” The Liberian Government has drawn up series of other activities, aimed at creating awareness on the danger of global trafficking.”
