Civil Society Groupings in Bong County adopt documents…

BONG COUNTY, LIBERIA-Civil Society Groupings on Land Rights in Bong County have adopted two documents that are intended to guide their operations.

The documents include the Article of Incorporation and the Constitution, with sponsorship from a Swedish based organization on Land Rights, Forum Syd-Liberia.

Our Lower Bong County Correspondent quotes the Land Coordination Officer of Forum Syd-Liberia, Richlue Burphy, as saying the organization is ensuring local communities are educated on the Land Right Law.

Mr. Burphy asserted that if land issues are not properly explained to the locals, it has the propensity to brew conflict.

The two-day gathering brought together ten Civil Society Working Groups on Land Right from Bong County, including the Development Education Network of Liberia and the Justice and Peace Commission, among others.
