Christian Charity gives Rivercess farmers 15 Cassava Processing Machines…..

MONROVIA, LIBERIA – About 15 Cassava Processing Machines valued at half a million United States dollars, have been presented to local farmers in Rivercess County.

The machines were made available by the Association of Evangelicals of Liberia as part of its improved livelihood project.

The Food Security Manager of the Organization, Curtis Dabieh, said the machines will enable the farmers to process the cassava into farina for empowerment.

Mr. Dabieh said the project is targeting about three hundred farmers from 15 Communities in the County.

He disclosed that vegetables production is also a major component of the AEL Agriculture Project in the area.

In a related development, Camp for Peace, a local organization has dedicated a cassava plant to enhance agriculture activities in Salayea District, Lofa County.

The Executive Director of the organization, Abel Leawearllie, said the plant will bring about the empowerment of young people in the District.

Mr. Leawearliie also disclosed that the construction and dedication of the plant will enable graduates of its vocational institution to put to practice what they have learned.

The Camp For peace Executive Director told ELBC that about fifteen acres of land with cassava will be processed into farina for sale.

Mr. Leawearlie wants government and other partners assist his organization to improve its   agriculture program.
